Laurie Motherwell

Laurie Motherwell is a playwright born, raised, and based in Glasgow. Laurie is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh’s MSC in Playwriting, and is a proud member of the Scottish Society of Playwrights.
Theatre Credits: Old Enough (Traverse Theatre); Platypus Milk (Dirty Protest); Playback (Stag Hart); Spring-y and Cyberbuddy (Hopscotch Theatre).
Rehearsed Readings: Rats! (Should Weep) (Tron Theatre), Roxana (Modest Predicament), Churned (Tron Theatre), Comes Around (Macrobert Arts Centre), The Captain’s Heart (Playwright’s Studio, Scotland).
Laurie recently undertook the Write4Film screenwriting programme with the Scottish Film Talent Network developing his play Churned into a feature length film.
In 2019 Laurie was a recipient of a New Playwrights’ Award from the Playwright’s Studio, Scotland to develop his new play for the day you love me (too).
