Kentish born, Richard moved to Scotland in 1999. He trained at Drama Centre, London.
In his theatre career of more than 40 years, he has worked for the Royal National Theatre, Regents Park Open Air Theatre, The Almeida, The Byre, Perth Rep, Royal Lyceum, Mull Theatre, Wee Stories, Solar Bear, Cumbernauld Theatre and 4 seasons at Pitlochry Festival Theatre where he was nominated for a CATS Award for his performance as Douglas in Man of the Moment.
His extensive TV catalogue includes: Outlander, Rillington Place, The Bill, Casualty, Eastenders, Trial and Retribution, Great Expectations, The Vice, Birds of a Feather and Surgical Spirit . He spent 5 years in the iconic Saturday morning kids’ show Number 73 with Sandi Toksvig as well as appearances in Still Game, River City and Dear Green Place.
Film Credits include: Where Do We Go From Here?, Preaching to the Perverted, Solid Air, Stone of Destiny and The Virtual Network.
Richard also has experience in radio drama and as a Voiceover artist and has appeared in many commercials over the years, throughout the UK and internationally.
