Screw is a new six-part drama coming to Channel 4 on Thursday 6th January, 2022. Set in fictional Long Marsh prison, Screw follows rookie officer, Rose (Derry Girls’ Jamie Lee O’Donnell) as she finds her way in the challenging world of men’s prisons. Filmed in Glasgow, Screw features BAA’s Simon Donaldson, Neil Leiper and Stephen Clyde, and will be available to view on demand on All4 straight after airing.

Connect – Glasgow Film Festival ScreeningFilmed in North Berwick, Connect tackles the serious issue of suicide amongst young men in Scotland, and features BAA’s Neil Leiper. Written and directed by Marilyn Edmond, the film stars Kevin Guthrie (Fantastic Beasts, Dunkirk) as Brian, a suicidal young man who is saved by stranger. We follow his journey as he reconnects with his friends and family, while battling his dark secret.
Connect has its world premiere at Glasgow Film Festival on Saturday 23 February, with writer/director Marilyn Edmond and actors Kevin Guthrie and Siobhan Reilly in attendance.

Beats – Closing Gala, Glasgow Film Festival 2019The 15th Annual Glasgow Film Festival runs from 20 February to 3 March and closes with UK premiere of Brian Welsh’s Beats, the film adaptation of Scottish playwright Kieran Hurley’s hit stage show about ‘90s rave culture, exec produced by Steven Soderbergh.
Featuring BAA’s Neil Leiper, Beats is a story of friendship, rebellion and the power of gathered youth, set in 1994, just as the Criminal Justice Bill attempted to place restrictions on Scotland’s rave culture and the free party movement. Directed by Brian Welsh (Black Mirror), executive produced by Steven Soderbergh, the film also features a soundtrack curated by Scottish club legend JD Twitch (Optimo).
