Pauline Goldsmith features in Bold Girls, running at Cumbernauld Theatre from 24 Sept.
Rona Munro’s play was first performed by 7:84 Scottish People’s Theatre at Cumbernauld Theatre in 1990 and returns in 2022 with this new production, directed by Michael Duke.
It’s 1991 in West Belfast. With their husbands either locked up or killed, Marie, Cassie and Nora are just trying to get on with their lives, despite the bombs and burning buses. Life must go on – after all, there’s still laundry to do, bills to pay and kids to feed.
But when a mysterious young woman turns up on Marie’s doorstep and disrupts their girls’ night out, the devastating revelations which ensue will shatter dreams and threaten their friendship irrevocably.
Sharply funny, moving, yet never shying from the harsh realities of life during the Troubles, Bold Girls is a celebration of women’s strength under siege.
Runs 24 Sept – 1st Oct.

Interiors – Vanishing Point
The fantastic Pauline Goldsmith appears in Interiors, Vanishing Point’s internationally acclaimed production, coming in 2022 to Beacon Arts Centre and London’s Barbican Theatre.
Interiors is about sounds, silence, the path of fate and the darkness outside the window. Behind a window, in a cosy room, a group of friends gather for a meal. The lamps are on, everyone is happy. Talk begins and stories unfold around the table. There is laughing, flirting, joking, eating and dancing. But sadness soon threads its way through the occasion, secrets emerge and lies are exposed. Outside someone is watching.
Interiors runs Thu 27 – Fri 28 January 2022 at Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock, then moves on to London’s Barbican Theatre for performances from Wed 2 – Sat 5 February 2022.
