Message from the Skies returned to Edinburgh on Tuesday 1 January with a selection of love letters written to Europe. The words of six internationally celebrated writers – Billy Letford, Chitra Ramaswamy, Kapka Kassabova, Louise Welsh, Stef Smith and William Dalrymple – will illuminate and animate buildings around the city during the first month of 2019.
Brennan Artists Harry Ward and Romana Abercromby provided voices for the project, with recordings available on the Message from the Skies app.
Message from the Skies runs until Friday 25 January 2019 and is commissioned and presented by Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Produced by Underbelly, in partnership with Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust. Developed with support from Creative Scotland through the Scottish Government’s Festivals Expo Fund.
