Laurie is a playwright born, raised, and based in Glasgow.

In 2024 his play Roost was performed at Play, Pie and a Pint.

His play Sean And Daro Flake it ‘Til They Make It premiered at the Traverse Theatre in April 2023 and ran again during the Edinburgh Fringe festival. Also in 2023 Laurie was also the Tron Theatre's Resident Writer developing his new play The Grand Sun Shines Eternal.

In 2019 Laurie was a recipient of a New Playwrights’ Award from the Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland to develop the play I Very Very Love Caramel Bar. He was also supported by an MGC Futures bursary for his play D!SS.

He has previously worked with organisations such as National Theatre of Scotland, An Tobar and Mull Theatre, Macrobert Theatre, and Paisley Book Festival.

Laurie has also participated in the Scottish Film Talent Network’s Write4Film course.

Laurie is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh’s MSc in Playwriting and is a proud member of the Scottish Society of Playwrights.
