Aodhan is a playwright and screenwriter from Glasgow, who trained at the Rita and Burton School of Dramatic Writing at NYU, Tisch School of the Arts. Having experienced the nightmare of a Glaswegian accent being understood by Americans, they decided to move back home after graduating. While studying overseas, Aodhan realised that authentically portraying Scottish people is of huge importance to them as a storyteller and they also have a soft spot for creating complex queer characters. They are passionate about exploring emotionally divisive people who are not always easy for the audience to support. Aodhan’s favourite writers include Lucy Kirkwood, Caryl Churchill, Joe Orton, Sharon Horgan, Michaela Coel and Russell T Davies. They think the best TV show of the past few years is either The White Lotus, Years & Years or Severance.
