At 19 Simone became a casting assistant and worked on commercials with the great and the good, as well as on some legendary TV shows. She went freelance and cast a new play for Arthur Miller. She began to switch specialities, working on episodes of a TV series then feature films. After joining forces with her sister, they continued casting for the UK, US and Australia. At the height of their success, when their two leading actresses were vying for the top spot at the Oscars, they went to work for a talent agency. Simone didn’t like being an agent and instead took a boat to Sri Lanka from whence her father came. She got married and pregnant and after her first child was born back in the UK, went to art school. Years later she moved to Edinburgh with her family, finished her art education and decided to return to casting. That was over 10 years ago. She hasn’t regretted a moment.
